Roster: Watson returns on Exhibit 10
The Lakers announced they have signed forward Anton Watson. Dan Woike of The Athletic (via Hoops Rumors) reported the deal as an Exhibit 10, the camp/preseason form that can convert to a two-way or, if waived, often pairs with G League time and a possible Exhibit 10 bonus.
Watson (6'8", Gonzaga; 54th pick, 2024) spent last season with the then–South Bay Lakers: 50 games (34 starts), 11.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.4 steals in 27.3 minutes (Lakers Nation). He also played Lakers Summer League this year. SI’s Ryan Ward notes L.A. can carry up to 21 in camp and still must get to the 15-man regular-season limit before the Oct. 21 opener vs Golden State.

Ownership: new class-action suit (allegations)
Front Office Sports reports a proposed class-action filed Wednesday in Florida federal court naming Mark Walter, Delaware Life, Group 1001, TWG Global, and Guggenheim Partners. Plaintiff Ira Rosner alleges affiliated investments were understated and claims fraudulent concealment and breach of contract; the suit seeks at least $5 million for a class that could include tens of thousands of annuity buyers. Hoops Wire stresses the Lakers and Dodgers are not defendants and are not accused of wrongdoing—the complaint ties insurance scrutiny to Walter’s sports holdings and references the pending $12.5B Lakers sale.
Treat every claim as an allegation. No court ruling; no announced criminal charges against Walter. TWG Global previously rejected “fire sale” framing of the Lakers exit and said there had been “no victim.” Representatives for both sides did not immediately comment (FOS).
The filing landed a day after commissioner Adam Silver said the NBA found “no red flags” vetting Walter (allegations vs league findings—see Sept. 17 issue). BOG week still closed without a floor vote on the Kushner/Iger sale. Jeanie Buss remains governor pending the family-stake fight; LA Superior Court hearing remains Dec. 8.

Roster clock: Luka’s Europe window ~Sept. 20
Carry-forward from Sportklub / Eurohoops: Luka Dončić remains in the final Slovenia prep window and is expected back in California after Sept. 20, ahead of media day (Sept. 28) and camp (Sept. 29). No brand-new official medical release overnight; treat weight/condition notes from European outlets as reporting, not a team release.
